A peek at the PAC

Spring is just around the corner, which typically is a period of high activity and renewed energy. This year proves to be a good example of that.

Myeloma Action Month

As we write this column, the annual Myeloma Action Month campaign is reaching its successful close thanks to the hard work of the Myeloma Canada team, but also the involvement of hundreds of myeloma patients and caregivers across the country. Patient voices have been expressed through a variety of channels, sharing their struggles with diagnosis and treatments, but also their hopes and goals about living well despite the disease. So many of the challenges in the myeloma journey come down to funding and priorities — researching a cure, supporting patients everywhere, and advocating for access to novel treatments. In March, our collective voice to address those challenges was strong and clear.

Farewell Manon Veilleux!

Manon Veilleux of Quebec, who has lived with myeloma for years and held many patient representation roles, has completed her two mandates and will be leaving the PAC. As a support group leader in Quebec City, Manon was keen to bring experts to present and listen to patients and caregivers.

Fundraising event participants in Montreal and Montérégie know Manon well as she was regularly one the most active volunteers.

Manon's contributions in discussions of the PAC have always been well thought out, relevant, and even out-of-the-box. We will miss Manon as Quebec representative on the PAC, but we are truly inspired by her legacy.

Patient-focused actions in advocating for Carvykti

We as patients saw this as a priority that we must act on, so thank you to all who took part in supporting this important initiative and we’re thrilled to see negotiations are back on! This is the power of the patient voice.

Your voice is our priority

Our raison d'être is you! Never hesitate to contact any member of the PAC to discuss a myeloma patient-focused topic that is critical to you or a loved one. You will always be our priority.
