Dear Friends,
We’re heading into the season when our little bakery starts thinking in hundreds of pies, pounds of butter, and how much coffee it will take to get us through November.
Thanksgiving pie ordering has begun, and we’d love to bake for your table. As you plan dessert for your own celebration, consider sharing a little sweetness with a neighbor by donating a pumpkin pie to the Niles Township Food Pantry or a local soup kitchen. We’ll bake it fresh and handle getting it where it needs to go. Your generosity, our ovens, and a little coordination can bring something special to a neighbor’s holiday.
But first, Halloween! You scooped up our Halloween treats in just one day, so we’re getting back to baking. We’ll have more ready to go tomorrow. If you missed the first batch, here’s your second chance to get your hands on something spooky and sweet.
Meanwhile, fall beverages are having quite a moment. The Banana Caramel Mocha Latte has enthusiastic company with our seasonal Pumpkin Spice, and some of you have been inventing your own combinations. Black Sugar Pumpkin Spice? We’re intrigued. Keep those ideas coming.
On your next visit, say hello to Vicki, our new front-of-house manager! An expert barista with a bubbly personality, she brings plenty of skill and good cheer to your daily coffee stop. We’re delighted to welcome her to the team.
We also have some news beyond the bakery: Madeleine is working to get on the ballot for Skokie Village Trustee. She’s collecting petition signatures at the bakery this week, and you can find more information below.
Thank you for making this bakery part of your routines, celebrations, coffee breaks, and holiday tables. We’re looking forward to another busy season with you.
With love and plenty of butter,
Dylan, Maria & Madeleine
