FACULTY/STAFF NOTES
* Michelle Harrolle, assistant professor with the Vinik Sport & Entertainment Management Program, has been named president of the Tampa Bay chapter of Women in Sports and Events. The chapter was launched earlier this month for the educational resource organization for women in those fields. Fellow faculty member Janelle Wells was named to the chapter's strategic planning committee.
* Dipayan Biswas, professor in the Marketing Department, was named associate editor at the Journal of Retailing.
* Marvin Karlins, professor in the Information Systems and Decision Sciences Department, has been granted media privileges with the International Federation of Journalists, the world's largest organization of journalists. The recognition will allow him to gather information to assist in research and teaching.
* Andrew Artis and Richard Kelso, two professors in the Marketing Department, were named among the top 10 professors at USF by OneClass, an online study guide. Artis and Kelso were listed as No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. The ranking was, in part, based on student reviews of faculty across the university. To see the entire list, click here.
* Russell Clayton, a newly hired instructor with the Marketing Department, penned a research paper titled "Can You Afford to Change your Career?" which appeared in the Harvard Business Review last month. To read the article, click here.
* Laura Mattia, the Raymond James Financial Director of the Personal Financial Planning Program, was quoted in a WealthManagement.com article last month titled "What Stops Women in Finance? It's Culture, Culture, Culture." To read the article, click here.
 
 
ALUMNI NOTES
 
* Erika Troconis ('16, MS Marketing) is now the marketing content manager at EasyVista. She will handle creative and content strategy out of the Tampa office for the French software firm.
* Marcus Ellis ('16, MAcc) was promoted to audit and assurance senior at Deloitte. The former 25 Under 25 honoree began his career with Deloitte as an intern in 2015. He most recently served as an audit and assurance senior assistant.
* Duy (Dan) Nguyen ('16, Management) has accepted a position as a Statutory Accounting Principles specialist at Deloitte in the Orlando area. The former 25 Under 25 honoree has been with Deloitte since 2016 and previously served as an intern at Nypro.
* Austin Lane ('13, Accounting) is now an audit senior at Deloitte. He has been with the company since 2016. Before that, he worked for Coca-Cola Company.
* Shauna-kay Campbell ('13, Management) is now an associate marketing manager at Sam's Club in Bentonville, Arkansas. She previously worked as a brand marketing specialist for Brown-Forman in Washington, D.C.
* Simone King ('17, MS Marketing) has joined Warby Parker as a sales advisor in the Raleigh-Durham area of North Carolina.
* Lynn (Francois) Brewer ('15, MBA) is now a senior subcontract administrator at General Dynamics Information Technology. She is a former 25 Under 25 honoree.
* Jessica Deleanides ('15, MBA) has accepted a job as a senior customer relations management consultant at PowerObjects in Tampa. She was previously a CRM consultant with DXC Technology.
* Ryan Heckel ('18, Finance) is now an audit consultant at Focal Point Data Risk, a financial internal auditing and consulting company.

* Sept. 20, 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., the USF Career Fair will be held in the Yuengling Center (formerly the USF Sun Dome). Advisors and corporate representatives will be on hand to ease the transition from student to career-minded professional. A day later and during the same time, a career fair at the same location will take place just for accounting majors.
* Oct. 10, the Florida Blue Statewide Health Care Innovation Pitch Competition will take place in Lake Nona near Orlando with student teams from across Florida vying for awards and cash prizes. The event is coordinated by the USF Center for Entrepreneurship and Florida Blue.
* Oct. 11, 8:30-10 a.m., the Muma College of Business's Conversation with a CEO featuring Vincent Jackson, former wide receiver with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and now a successful entrepreneur in the region, will be held in the Center for Advanced Medical Learning Simulation, 124 S. Franklin St., in downtown Tampa. To register, click here.
* Oct. 15-21, Homecoming for the USF Bulls. The week's events include the Homecoming Ball, a comedy show and an alumni party. The Running of the Bulls Homecoming Parade through campus takes place on Oct. 19. The Muma College of Business will continue the tradition of holding a homecoming celebration that day in the atrium and breezeway, serving food and refreshments before staging a parade-watch party. * Oct. 17, 6:30-9:30 p.m., the Vinik Sport & Entertainment Management Program Lecture Series will take place in the Yuengling Center (formerly the USF Sun Dome). The annual event this year features Dan Reed, head of Facebook's Global Sports Partnerships; Rick Welts, president and COO of the NBA's Golden State Warriors, world champions for three of the past four years; and Jay Parry, former COO of the Women's National Basketball Association at a time when the league experienced incredible growth.
