NOVEMBER 30, 2025 NEWSLETTER | | |
Greetings, St. Martin’s-in-the-Field!
You all have been in my prayers this week for safe travels, good food, and hearty laughter with family and friends. I look forward to hearing your Thanksgiving stories when we come together on Sunday to celebrate the beginning of the Season of Advent.
For my contribution to the Epistle this week, I would like to offer this simple prayer adapted from the collect for Thanksgiving Day:
Almighty and gracious God, we give you thanks for the abundance you set before us, greater than anything on a Black Friday sale rack. Make us faithful stewards of your generosity at St. Martin’s and help us turn from the rush of this day toward the quieter joy of Advent. As we look ahead to Sunday’s taco bar, Advent wreath making, and the gift of gathering, strengthen us to care for those in need and to walk in hope toward your coming kingdom. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
