Hello, Master Trainers and Class Leaders!
My sincerest apologies for the lack of newsletter in August. The month got away from me. Fall is just around the corner, and many of you have officially started the 2024-2025 academic year. I sincerely hope you all had the opportunity to find some downtime for self-care and relaxation over the summer months.
We continue to work on updating materials to enhance and better support the Powerful Tools for Caregivers community. I wanted to provide you with some updates:
-
Unfortunately, we are currently out of copies of The Caregiver Helpbook in Spanish. As we are updating the book to be used alongside the class series, we are unable to print additional copies of the current version. Please know that we continue to work diligently with editors, publishers, and others to complete these updates. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
- I will be cancelling my office hour through the end of September. This will allow me additional time to complete edits and be available immediately for additional changes. You can always email me at ptcaregivers@iastate.edu and we can set up a time to meet.
- I will communicate everything I can with you as we are able. As we get closer to the changes being available to you, I will have videos available that walk through the edits so nothing is missed.
-
Please remember, there are only two script options for the caregiver class series now. You should no longer plan or host a 2.5-hour class series. The remaining options are:
- 90-minute Caregivers of Adults (virtual or in-person).
- 2-hour Caregivers of Children (virtual or in-person)
That is all I'm able to share for now. We continue to conduct our pilot tests and engage with our communities to ensure the best possible outcomes for caregiver participants. As always, please don't hesitate to reach out (ptcaregivers@iastate.edu) with any questions/concerns, or to share feedback.
We remain grateful for all you do for caregivers in your community.
Wishing you and yours well for the month to come,
Katie Anthony, Ph.D.
