This very special concert is tonight.
There are so many ways to be God’s hands in the world. Tonight in our beautiful sanctuary, acclaimed organist Dr. Gail Archer will employ her hands in the playing of sublime contemporary organ music from Ukraine at our Concert to Benefit Ukraine.
While the concert is FREE, we hope you’ll reach your hand into your pocket or purse to make a donation to the Ukraine Crisis Fund of Episcopal Relief & Development.

REAL LIFE Cookout
Sunday, October 8
Next Sunday, October 8th, St. James's is having a cookout with the women in the REAL LIFE program at the Carillon Shelter at Byrd Park (the one past the dog park) beginning at 1pm (setup to begin at 12:30). This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know our outreach partner REAL LIFE and enjoy a cookout in the park. All ages are welcome!
There will be food, lawn games, and fellowship. This is a great opportunity to engage with and get to know our neighbors in a "ministry with" model versus "ministry for".
In addition to coming to the cookout, we need 15-20 volunteers to help setup, grill, and cleanup, but feel free to just signup to attend! Click here to signup.
Please contact Yvonne Gibney (yvonnegibney@gmail.com), Judy Philpott (philpott3@yahoo.com), or Ashlee Ligon (childrensministry@doers.org) with any questions.

Celebration Tickets
go on sell next week.
Be checking your inbox next week for a special Celebration email - you'll be able to purchase your ticket(s) and read a little bit more about the event.
However, we won't be able to tell what the musicial performance will be - it's always a surprise. Not even the staff knows what it is. So you'll need to come to The Celebration to find out. Mark Whitmire, the musicians and the singers(performers) never disappoint.
Wednesday, October 25 is a night you’ll want to be a part of - it promises to be a night you won’t soon forget. Along with the musical suprises there's amazing food and wonderful company. The Celebration is a feast of goodwill and connection.

Everyone is welcome.
Our Wednesday Noon Eucharist returns this Wednesday, October 4.
It's a wonderful opportunity to take time away from your busy week and share some quiet time with other parishioners hearing the word of God.
This short service, which includes a homily, is led by a different clergy member each week and is held in the Chapel located within the sanctuary.

The DOERS Guide.
Back in the day, we called it the Resource Guide. But it’s been renamed the DOERS Guide because, well, we're doers.
This is a simple guide to everything going on here at St. James’s. From how you can serve to ways to learn and sing – not to mention give and gather – the DOERS Guide is the easy way to discover all the ways to engage with St. James’s.
You can find it at doers.org/guide. And because it’s online, we can constantly update and/or correct the contents so you can be certain it has the most up-to-the-minute information.
If you have any additions or corrections, please send them to Jay Sandusky, director of communications, at jsandusky@doers.org.
