The Summer Health Professions Education Program is an invaluable six-week enrichment opportunity running from June 9th to July 20th, 2024, offered at absolutely no cost. Our program is dedicated to expanding access to crucial information and resources for college students passionate about the health professions. We are firmly committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive healthcare workforce by introducing students from underrepresented backgrounds to the exciting potential of pursuing careers in health-related fields. We are wholeheartedly dedicated to supporting their aspirations, ultimately contributing to the enhancement of overall societal health.

• Priority admissions interviews for SHPEP graduates.
• Individualized tracks in Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, or Public Health.
• One on one career counseling with faculty and staff.
• Shadowing and hands on clinical experiences.
• Need based travel assistance.
• Free room and board
• $1,600 stipend

• Be a first or second-year undergraduate student at the time of application.
• Be a U.S. citizen, a permanent resident, or an individual granted deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA) status by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
• Have a minimum overall GPA of 2.5.
• Not have previously participated in the program.

• Identifies with a group that is racially/ethnically underrepresented in the health professions;
• Comes from an economically or educationally disadvantaged background, is a first-generation college student; and/or
• Has demonstrated an interest in issues affecting underserved populations.
• Submits a compelling personal statement and a strong letter of recommendation.
