The Tragedy and Triumph of Black Healthcare History

This is a special month in America. February has been designated as the time we place special emphasis on the contributions of Black Americans. In the field of healthcare there have been amazing moments of triumph organized and accomplished by Black Americans such as Dr. Ben Carson, Dr. Charles R. Drew, Dr. Joycelyn Elders, and many others. Yet, African Americans are at risk of not dying well.

Thank You Red Hat Society!

Our Hot Springs Area Office recently received a surprise visit from a few ladies representing the Red Hat Society. They made it a day of having fun while helping others, as they showed their kindness by dropping off a donation to support the mission of Arkansas Hospice!

Saturday, Feb. 20, was National Love Your Pet Day, so this is a perfect chance to thank all of the volunteers in our Arkansas Hospice Therapy Dog Program! Because of COVID-19 restrictions, they’re not able to make visits right now, but this article, which was written before the pandemic, tells of the joy and comfort that this special group brings to patients and families.
