2020 Reflection: We truly are
BETTER UNITED
2020 has been a year of unprecedented challenges. We have all seen and felt so much, and we have lived through so much. But through it all, what we learned is that Northeast Georgians are stronger when we work together, and that we are better united. We know this because you proved it time and again. Thank you.
"We had a family with 4 children reach out to us that has never had to ask for help before...We started delivering [food] every Wednesday to help this family that had never been in a situation of need before."

"Thank you so much for United Way's donation to our Bridge to Home program! It truly makes a local impact for families experiencing homelessness and working hard toward a bright future for themselves and their children."

A Story To Tell
Women United's 17th annual Power of the Purse was a success! This year, the co-author of The Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition, Carol Aebersold, joined us to share her own excitement for reading and storytelling. She learned at an early age to appreciate the magic of stories in books, and her company continues to encourage the sharing of stories.

Reading together with your children is like sharing a meal together, and just as important.

Across Clarke and Oconee counties, there are still thousands of children from birth to age five who are not receiving free books each month in the mail. With the donations of attendees and sponsors, as well as those who participated in the online auction, more children in Clarke and Oconee counties will receive free books each month, teaching them a love of learning. Thank you to all those who attended and we can't wait to see you next year - hopefully in person!
