It's the year-end countdown!

5 days until Christmas!

There are 11 days left in 2024.

May I remind you that it is time to review your charitable pledges and intentions for 2024.

Join the FaithWorks' 2024 campaign as we continue to work towards our annual goal of $1.5 million.

We would like to exceed that goal to offer more assistance to our existing ministry partners and help the new applicants seeking our support for the first time.

Let’s all review our charitable intentions and pledges and be as generous as we can in 2024!

The following article is about

our ministry partner

North House in Uxbridge.

It is an example of the work that your donation to FaithWorks supports.

A visit to North House in Uxbridge

When I last visited North House in 2021, I met with Mona and Jessica in an old house with two offices. It was cramped quarters out of which they offered so much to those in need of housing assistance.

This past October, when I again visited with the FaithWorks Allocations Committee, I was wonderfully overwhelmed to see the substantially larger and modern facilities out of which the now eleven employees work. This unimaginable growth is a testament to their vision and operational management. It is also a sad testament to the ever growing need for housing and services for those with inadequate housing across our Diocese.

Besides caring assistance from the dedicated staff, North House is now able to offer a washroom with a shower, a kitchen and laundry facilities to those living without these amenities that so many of us take for granted.

The following is taken from North House' website northhouse.ca

North House provides a spectrum of housing supports for those who are at risk or in crisis within the communities of North Durham.

Our vision is a North Durham where no person experiences housing instability.

The homeless in North Durham don’t live on the street, covered in sleeping bags. They’re your friend’s adult child who moved home with their children due to the high cost of rent, the cousin who sleeps on your couch while searching for an affordable apartment, or the teenager you frequently see in front of the corner store.
