Dr. Oz explored the origins of the sorghum plant, and explained how we arrived at the current status of Onyx sorghum. He explained,
"There is a newer variety that has peaked people's interest called, Onyx Sorghum. It's called Onyx Sorghum, because of its color which it gets because of its direct reaction to the sun. Onyx Sorghum is a resistant starch, unlike regular starch which the body breaks down to sugar. Onyx Sorghum is not digested, so it acts more like fiber and helps control blood sugar. Onyx sorghum is also known for its powerful antioxidant properties and high tannins. A win-win!
Dr. Oz asked Chairman Bob Harris,
"At 91 years old why did you decide now to create a whole new way of eating cereal?" Mr. Harris replied,
"I didn't decide now. I've done it all my life. My father died at age 40, my brother died at age 50. I just spent my entire life creating foods that would make you live longer and stronger."
Dr. Oz also suggests,
"for those of you with a busy morning (Grain Berry ONYX) should be part of your game plan."
Dr. Oz's Bite Club also created delicious ideas and recipes for using Grain Berry ONYX.
Grain Berry is the only cereal, pancake mix, muffin, cookie and brownie mix to contain whole grains along with whole grain ONYX Sorghum.
Why is ONYX so important?
It contains DOA antioxidant. DOA is rare and highly effective in combating free radical attacks on our cells. In fact, ONYX neutralizes all known free radicals which attack our bodies cells; fighting diabetes pre-diabetes, digestive problems and more.
In addition to the powerful antioxidant DOA and Tannin, which Grain Berry grows in Texas, it is combined with whole grain wheats and oats.
