FEBRUARY 2024

MAGIC OF italy!

Dear friends,

Welcome to my monthly "PHOTOBLOG" newsletter, which I have been publishing for several years and have enjoyed sending to friends and clients in order to keep them informed of my current photographic interests, new works, upcoming exhibits and other Gallery events.

A new "subject" is at the center of each Newsletter, with which I present a short series of pertinent images along with any needed description and details, in order to allow my viewers to become more actively part of the discussion.

Most of the imagery displayed will be eventually on view at "IMAGES" Art Gallery, and of course I always welcome anyone's comments and interest in my work. I would be very happy to extend to all an invitation to contact us so that a personal Gallery visit could be conveniently arranged whenever desired.

Any of these and other images could be custom printed/framed and become part of your art collection, based on your specifications and desires.

Over the years my recipients list has gradually grown, thanks to your interest and support, and I encourage you to share this "PHOTOBLOG" with friends and art lovers in your circles.

More of my photography on view at www.mellinophotography.com.

A sincere "thank you" for your interested attention,

Marcello Mellino.

For this month Photoblog I thought of a "trip" to Italy as a wonderful way to brighten our typically gray, rainy Ohio days...as we anxiously await the arrival of Spring!

Italy remains a most preferred destination for so many travelers, given its splendid sceneries even during the Winter months, which could be often rather mild and pleasant, particularly if visiting the southern regions. Actually, I usually recommend to friends planning an Italian trip to avoid at all cost the Summer months, and rather choose to travel during later Spring or Fall, in order to take advantage of more pleasant weather, less intense traffic and general congestion, and probably more favorable fares!

The most difficult task, however, when going to Italy, is to decide where to go, as even the most remote village will surprise you with unexpected views, exceptional food and "vino", and always with the "magic" of Italian lifestyle, infinite regional traditions and warm hospitality!

I really hope, with these images, to bring to you a little taste of my native homeland, often outside of the splendor of Rome, Venice or Florence, but also with unknown villages and countryside views which I often look for in my travels back home...buon viaggio!

The vintage Alfa Romeo featured on top is a true masterpiece, reminiscent to many of glorious trips off the "autostrada" and into winding coastal roads in search of the next incredible destination...and,actually, here they are: Calcata, Bracciano, Norcia, Leonessa and so many more, impossible to be all mentioned!

These are often unheard of little, sleepy ancient villages and towns I am familiar with; they remain so true to their century old traditions and heritage, always so interesting and enjoyable to visit and appreciate.

A wonderful view of the Arno River in Firenze, crossed by a series of bridges among which il Ponte Vecchio is the most famous; Firenze and its surrounding countryside offer some of the most celebrated sceneries of all Italy, along with its world famous wines and food, always well worth a trip, along with Venezia and Roma, of course!

"IMAGES" Art Gallery, now located within the 78 St. STUDIOS Art Complex on West 78th. street in Cleveland, will be open and ready to welcome friends and visitors on Friday, February 16th (5 TO 9PM) during the monthly "Third Friday Event', which has for years traditionally attracted hundreds of art collectors and experts to the dozens of Art Galleries and artists Studios filling the four levels of this premier Ohio Art venue. Currently IMAGES Gallery is presenting

"Bella Italia", a unique series of Italian images on view on its main wall space, along with views of Cleveland, the Lake and much more, including a growing inventory of vintage prints, paintings and watercolors all available for your home, office or other decorating projects.

We thank you for your support and interest in the past, and we wish to encourage you to plan a new visit soon...think "SPRING" and stay warm!

Best to all,

Marcello.
