A Word from Our Founders.
|
Dear Friends,
As we begin our fourth year at Mater Filius Dallas, it is always good to stop for a second to thank God for so much. It is hard to count the number of blessings received starting with the Mattis and babies, the Imas and our volunteers and benefactors. No doubt that none of us are the same, as our Lord has touched us all in different ways on our journey to Him.

The House keeps maturing based on its Catholic foundation, and it is important to remind ourselves the two principles of Faith and Love that sustain Mater Filius and maybe all of us: “Don’t be afraid”, trust our Lord or in the words of our Holy Mother the Virgin Mary “...do as He says”. We see every day at the House unbelievable events that show us how much God loves everyone.
“You did it for me,” the five words of Jesus to teach us the way to heaven by helping others, and that Mother Teresa reminds us too. Also every day we see the power of this lesson at the House with our passionate volunteers and benefactors, and we all realize that “it is in giving that we receive...it is in dying to self that we are born to eternal life”.
Let’s start this fourth year following His command: “Duc in Altum” (Luke 5:4...launch into the deep); Let’s abandon ourselves to our Lord and let’s beg our Mother to hold our hands until the last day of our lives.

North Texas Giving Day - September 19, 2019

This is a great opportunity to show your support and care for homeless expectant mothers. We don't ask for much! Just select Mater Filius Dallas as one of your favorites charities and give from your heart. All donations directly impact the welfare of the mothers and babies living in the house. Mater Filius Dallas operated with the help of volunteers only.

Full House, Anniversary, and Baptisms!

S
o many things have happened at Mater Filius Dallas since our last newsletter.
The month of May was the busiest of all, when THREE of the moms were in the hospital at the same time. Day after day, we welcomed beautiful Immanuel, Leonardo, and Sophia. It was not a surprise to cause a little bit of a commotion at Medical City of Plano. Visitors running from room to room and more pregnant moms arriving to see their dear sisters.
On June 25, we celebrated Mater Filius Dallas' 3rd Anniversary with a community mass at Prince of Peace Plano and the Baptisms of two babies and one mom.
Only four days later, we were singing Happy Birthday to adorable Manuela, 'Ela,' at her One Year Old Party.
A new mother-to-be with twins, who only arrived at the house the day before, was at the party. The twins arrived a week later on July 3rd!
Two more baby-girls are on the way and due in September.
No doubt, at Mater Filius Dallas we always "expect the unexpected!"
