As we close out the year and reflect on the season of gratitude and giving, we want to share an extraordinary milestone—one that speaks to both the growing need in our community and the incredible impact of your support.
In November, the Anne Arundel County Food Bank experienced its busiest month since the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through our network of partner food pantries, our Mobile Food Pantry, and other programs, we provided more than 65,000 points of service. That's 30 percent more people helped than in November 2024. Through a partnership with Anne Arundel County, we distributed an additional 2,600 prepared food boxes to county residents affected by the government shutdown and cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
Behind these numbers are real people: children coming home to shelves stocked with nutritious food, seniors able to prepare holiday meals with dignity, and working families impacted by the federal shutdown feeling a sense of relief that, despite a pause in their pay, they were able to put food on the table for their loved ones. Your support allowed us to meet this record-breaking level of need with compassion, efficiency, and care, ensuring that no one seeking help was turned away during the holidays.
Rising food prices, housing costs, and utility bills continue to stretch household budgets, particularly during the holiday season. As we head into the winter months, the need remains high, but the impact we saw in November reminds us what is possible when we work together to help our neighbors in need. With your continued partnership, we will sustain this momentum and ensure that hope—and nourishment—reach every corner of Anne Arundel County.
From all of us at the Anne Arundel County Food Bank, thank you for helping to make this holiday season brighter for so many.
With heartfelt gratitude,
