MEET THE PRESENTERS

Tina Cawthorn, CLFP


Tina Cawthorn has over 30 years’ experience in the financing industry including equipment financing, ABL, and invoice factoring platforms. Tina’s career began at GE Colonial Pacific Leasing before it was part of the GE family of companies and known only as Colonial Pacific Leasing Co. From there Tina spent 9 years with Textron Financial; first in their Vendor Finance Division and then their Asset Based Lending Division. While with these companies she held roles in Customer Service, Operations, Credit and Sales and Marketing. Since 2009 Tina has worked as a Business Development Officer with Orange Commercial Credit, which provides invoice factoring.


Stephen Engel, CLFP


Stephen Engel joined Channel in 2018 and currently serves as Director of Partner Relationships. In this role, Stephen focuses on building and maintaining strategic partnerships with third-party equipment finance brokers and lessors in the small-ticket finance space. He also oversees the development and training of both internal and external team members, enhancing alignment with Channel's goals and fostering strong team and partner collaboration.



With seven years of experience in finance, Stephen brings extensive knowledge and expertise to his current role. Prior to joining Channel, he spent 11 years with Dur-A-Flex as a Regional Sales Manager, where he was responsible for managing profitable partnerships and establishing credit for purchasing contractors.


Stephen graduated from Plymouth State University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. He is an active participant on the AACFB Education Committee and frequently serves on industry event panels. He earned his CLFP designation in 2021.


Dana Freeman


Dana Freeman is currently the Director of Broker Relations at Maxim Commercial Capital, LLC. He specializes in onboarding new partners, delivering ongoing education on Maxim's finance programs, evaluating lending opportunities, and facilitating deal structuring and contract closures. Dana's finance journey began at Pawnee Leasing Corporation, a national equipment leasing company, where he honed his skills in broker-centric business. After eight years, he assumed a leadership role at First Pacific Funding Inc., establishing and overseeing a regional office while recruiting and training sales teams. He later returned to Pawnee before finding his current role at Maxim. Beyond finance, Dana is an accomplished entrepreneur, having successfully operated a web development company for over a decade. His strategic marketing prowess helped finance clients achieve remarkable business expansion and revenue growth.


George Jensen


George Jensen is an SBA Sales Manager with Community Bank & Trust in the greater Boston area. He specializes in using the SBA 7(a) loan program to purchase, expand, or refinance businesses and commercial real estate. These loans can be used for Business Acquisition, Partner Buyouts, Working Capital/Expansion, Business Occupied Commercial Real Estate, Construction/Renovation, and Equipment/Leaseholds. George has owned and operated several businesses, bought and sold investment real estate, and served as a part-time CFO for startups and growing small and medium sized businesses. He knows firsthand the challenges business owners and real estate investors face on a daily basis. George has previously worked with MultiSource Finance, Glenlyon Management, and First Jensen Group. Outside of work, George likes to spend time with his wife and daughter, and plays golf when he can.
