February 2023

Vision - we envision a nation where the lives of Caregiving Youth are understood, appreciated, and celebrated on their individual path to life's dreams and opportunities.

Mission - we champion youth who care for chronically ill, injured, elderly, or disabled family members, support their role as caregiver, safeguard and celebrate their success in school and life.

Dear Volunteers:

I hope you have been having a wonderful 2023! After a successful Holiday Celebration at the end of last year, with close to 100 volunteers helping out, we have been gearing up for some other great events.

AACY will be participating in the Spirit of Giving Community Spirit Race on Saturday, March 4th at FAU. We are looking for our volunteers to walk/run with AACY - American Association of Caregiving Youth: Community Spirit Race 5K & 1 Mile (runsignup.com)

AACY will be hosting our 2nd Annual Community Caregiving Champions Awards Breakfast on Friday, April 14th at 8 am, at the Marriot at Boca Center. Please check it out - Caregiving Champions Awards Breakfast – AACY

We are always looking for dedicated volunteers to become mentors for our caregiving youth. This is a very rewarding opportunity to be paired up with a student to help guide them in all aspects of life.

With gratitude,

Amanda Richards

The Ladies of G5: Arline, Jackie, Lynne, Stephanie, and Sue

The ladies of G5 have been volunteering with AACY since 2021. From the moment they started supporting AACY with their time, passion, gifts, and talents, the organization has benefitted in so many ways.

Arline McNally, Jackie Johnson, Lynne Arlen, Stephanie Block, and Sue Hobbs have been friends for several years and decided to pool their efforts and volunteer with a few local nonprofits whose missions are close to their hearts.

AACY events like the Holiday Party, Gala, and Graduation have been achieved with both the behind-the-scenes work and day-of-event help from the G5. These ladies work tirelessly to make sure the events they are involved in are well received and that all participants feel special and welcomed. For example, the picture above shows the ladies working to put together gifts and gift cards over the holidays so that clients will have a special present for the holiday season.

The ladies are always willing and able to roll up their sleeves and do whatever it takes to assist. Whether it is serving food at Graduation, escorting students to select gifts for their family members at the Holiday Party, or taking on the role of a mentor, like Stephanie, so that a caregiving youth can experience life as a kid; these ladies are so important to AACY.

The team at AACY is forever grateful that the G5 has chosen to support and help the organization grow!
