Announcing the 2020 AADC Alumnae Award Recipients

On behalf of the AADC Board of Directors, our AADC Awards Committee is pleased to announce and congratulate this year's AADC Alumnae Award recipients. We will honor distinguished alumnae at our   AADC Celebrates Founders Day Celebration and Alumnae Awards Luncheon   on Saturday, April 18, 2020, at 12 noon in Trayes Hall at the Douglass Student Center. Our featured keynote speaker will be  Flora Buchbinder Cowen '59, former AADC President and Chair of the Oral History Committee, who will share the history of the AADC. Register

Access Justice for Those Experiencing Poverty: Historical View and Perspective for the Future
 
The AADC is pleased to welcome Caprice Jenerson ’90 , Chief Equity and Inclusion Officer, New York Legal Assistance Group, who will share from her experiences and advocacy as a criminal defense attorney for the last 21 years. Caprice is a past president of the AADC Black Alumnae Network and was nominated to the National Black Lawyers Top 100 for 2019. Join us for this intriguing lecture on   Sunday, March 8, at 2:00 pm, in Trayes Hall at the Douglass Student Center . The lecture is free and open to all alumnae, the Rutgers Community and the public. A reception with light refreshments will follow the lecture. Register to attend.

The Zagoren Lecture honors the late Adelaide Marcus Zagoren '40, former Executive Director of the AADC. The lecture is free and open to all alumnae, the Rutgers community and to the public.
Mark your calendars for AADC Alumnae Reunion Weekend 2020, June 5 to June 7, 2020. We will herald the Vanguard 50th Class of 1970 and Milestone Classes of years ending in the 5s an 0s. Planning is underway with Class Officers and classmates from the Milestone Classes.

The AADC Reunion Planning Committee is working hard on both traditional and new events for all to enjoy and celebrate. Events, including Saturday morning’s Champagne Jazz Brunch, sell out quickly. FInancial Support for Graduate Studies — Apply by March 1

Each year, the Associate Alumnae of Douglass College awards fellowships to alumnae for pursuit of graduate work in a field in which the graduate has achieved academic excellence and has identified sound career objectives. To apply for an alumnae fellowship, please complete and return an application by March 1, 2020 . You will be considered for all fellowships for which you are eligible. If you have questions regarding alumnae fellowships, please email Susan Sturgill. Completed applications may be returned to Susan Sturgill at ssturgill@douglassalumnae.org or faxed to the AADC at (732) 932-2883.
