December Update
Dear AADO Friends,

I hope you recognize how we came together and supported each other through the challenges of 2020. Together we were and continue to be strong and resilient. Everyday we saw the results of our hard work in the noble fundraising profession and we showed up no matter the challenges, pushback, or negativity. We spoke and wrote our truth. Over and over again. That's not to say it wasn't tough at times. Or that we didn't have days when we wanted to throw in the towel. Yet collectively we were united and we did our best and that's what matters.

So thank you! Each one of you. The more than 2,700 of you who are members of AADO who rise up every day even when the the bullies are hard at work trying to knock us down. Onward into 2021 and keep rising up!

And I'll rise up
I'll rise like the day
I'll rise up
I'll rise unafraid
I'll rise up
High like the waves
I'll rise up
In spite of the ache
I'll rise up
And I'll do it a thousand times again

(Andra Day)

Happy Holidays,
Birgit

‘There Are So Few That Have Made Their Way’

Black campus leaders say their careers can be deeply rewarding, even as they are taxing. So why are Black employees so sharply underrepresented at the top ranks of the higher education ecosystem?

These organizations are making an effort to reach out to diverse individuals by posting their available positions on the AADO website. They are demonstrating that they truly care about increasing diversity within their organizations and the profession and AADO is extremely grateful.

Quisa Foster on why she supports AADO:

I have been an active member of the AADO network for over 20 years. I "give" to the organization on a consistent basis because Birgit and so many other members of this network give unselfishly to me. The benefits of being a member are priceless and I could not make a gift that equals the value of the friendships, peer support, and mentorship I have received from AADO!
AADO does not charge a membership fee.
