Who Am I?

My place of birth is:
Akron, Ohio

My hobbies are:
reading, movies, spending time with family, country music, and all things Harry Potter

The last good book I read was:
Why Fonts Matter by Sarah Hyndman

My oddest habit is:
I love collecting things - watches, scarves, snowmen, slinkys, pens - anything colorful and visually interesting.

Device I couldn't live without:
my iphone. It keeps me connected to my family members, both near and far.

My greatest accomplishment outside my profession:
marrying my high school sweetheart and raising our two beautiful daughters together

The reason I got into advertising/marketing:
I love creative problem solving. I knew I wanted to be a graphic designer as soon as my high school art teacher introduced me to design. I was so excited to learn I could make a living doing something I loved.

Biggest influences on me professionally:
my 5th grade art teacher, Mrs. Richmond, who encouraged me to never stop pursuing art and to be my own advocate

My greatest unfulfilled ambition is:
to learn to play piano

When nobody's looking, I like to:
binge watch HGTV or curl up with a good book and a cup of tea

Best thing about being an AAF Toledo member:
Meeting people from local companies I wouldn't have the opportunity to meet otherwise.

A Message From Our President

Ryan Hall
2018-2019 AAF Toledo President

The Fall season is here, and although the temperatures are dropping and the seasonal sadness has begun (for me at least), the AAF has stayed busy planning our 2018 and 2019 events!

The Internship Event is a collaborative effort by AAF Toledo, the Press Club of Toledo and PRSA Northwest Ohio. This event brings together students, professionals and prospective employers for a unique networking and educational experience. There are still several sponsorship opportunities available. The event will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn on Saturday, November 3rd. Please visit our website for more details.

CALLING ALL VENDORS to Eat, Drink and Be Merry at the AAF Toledo Our Favorite Things program on Wednesday, December 5th at the Hilton Garden Inn! We are looking for area retailers to showcase the season's hottest gift ideas at our annual holiday-themed luncheon. This fun afternoon features live entertainment, raffles, and goodie bags. Did I mention there would be a cash bar? For more information about participating as a vendor, please contact Patty at director@aaftoledo.org .

If you would like to become more involved within the club, we have several committees that could use your help! We would love to have your input, and you do not need to be on the Board of Governors in order to participate.  To find out more about becoming involved on one of our committees, please reach out to Patty Schoepf by clicking HERE.

AAF Toledo's Mosaic Series: Promoting Inclusivity & Retaining Young Talent

Join AAF Toledo for a special Lunch & Learn with Valerie Thompson of ProMedica, Jennifer Pizio from The University of Toledo, Toledo Chamber of Commerce's Jeff Schaaf and Treva Jeffries with Toledo Public Schools. This panel event will focus on creating welcoming and inclusive environments for student or post-graduate interns. This panel will precede AAF's annual Internship Event, which gathers dozens of local students from across our region who are looking to engage with, and gain experience from, creative entities. Our afternoon gathering will give you the tools needed to begin the brainstorming process on how you can create welcoming environments for your office's intern talent. Our goal is that every collegiate or university intern has a great experience in their workplace, which will hopefully encourage them to continue working and living in our exciting city.
