AAIDA On Capitol Hill
On May 4th, AAIDA's Executive Director, Lauren Dunlap, participated with other advocates for the Immune Deficiency Foundation's Virtual Capitol Hill Day. Lauren and her team met with North Carolina lawmakers Representative Patrick McHenry, Representative Dan Bishop, Senator Richard Burr and Senator Thom Tillis.
Topics addressed to lawmakers included copay accumulators as barriers to patient care and affordability, making in-home administration of IVIG for Medicare patients permanent as well as making telehealth visits a permanent option for immunocompromised patients.
