April showers bring May flowers! But May also marks the start of the AALC 2022 Educational Series! AALC is excited to be partnering once again with Southern Illinois University (SIU) School of Medicine along with the Illinois department of healthcare and Family Services and The Illinois Association of Medicaid Health Plans (IAMHP) to bring you an on-line workshop, “Supportive Living is Healthy Living.” The webinar will offer sessions on a variety of topics related to the health and wellness of the Supportive Living Program.  Speakers will cover subjects including: Supportive Living Program Policy & Regulatory Updates Navigating Illinois Managed Care Becoming an Ally: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion The workshop takes place on May 18 from 1:00PM – 3:50PM and will give you the opportunity to earn up to 2.25 continuing education credits. Legislative Update As you likely already know, this legislative session the Illinois General Assembly passed a nursing facility (NF) rate reform bill that, pending federal approval and HFS filing rules by June 1, 2022, transitions NH reimbursement beginning July 1st to the Patient-Driven Payment Model (PDPM). On April 20th, HB 246 was sent to Governor Pritzker, who has 60 days to sign it. Since SLP Medicaid rates are linked at 54.3% of NF rates, SLP rates will be impacted by HB246.   To learn more about the revised NF rate methodology and future SLP rates, I encourage you to read the attached memo.
