AALL 2020 / CALL FOR PROPOSALS

It's time to submit program and workshop proposals for the 113th AALL Annual Meeting & Conference in New Orleans. AALL 2020 will focus on delivering the best programs supporting the key domains of AALL's Body of Knowledge (BoK)

If you're ready to turn your great ideas into learner-centric programs please submit a proposal. The legal information profession requires specialized training and has complex needs, processes, and issues. To stay on the leading edge, we seek your expertise.

HOW TO GET STARTED

AALL members have identified a list of timely  "must-have" program topics  vital to their professional education . One of these topics might align with what your library has been tackling this year. Perhaps a working group within your special interest section has been brainstorming about the topic already. Propose a program !

Please use the Program and Workshop Proposal Collection site to develop your proposal in your own workspace, share it with your colleagues, and submit it by October 1. Explore our resources for program proposers, including:
EVALUATION CRITERIA

After the proposal deadline, the AMPC  will review, evaluate, and score all submitted proposals using a  comprehensive rubric focusing on:
  • Relevance (Is it important, timely, and vital to legal information professionals? Will the learner be able to implement action or think in new ways as a result?)
  • Description (Is it clear and well-defined? Is there a specific plan for learner engagement? Are the proposed speakers suitable?)
Scores will be compiled, averaged, and used by the Content Area Team Leaders during their November program selection meeting. The deadline for submission is Tuesday, October 1; proposal status will be conveyed to all proposers by early December.

"[My best moment was] coordinating a program for the 1st time ever and have it be such a resounding success, with over 100 attendees, all of whom stayed to the end, many asked questions or spoke to [the] presenter after the program, and getting the congratulations/compliments from so many of my peers."
