ABOUT THE AWARDS
Scholarship awards will go to seven students who are beacons of light within their communities. 
The students selected have devoted their time and energy to Dr. King’s principles of non-violent social change.  
NOMINATION PROCESS
Self-nominations are permitted and students are welcomed to nominate their peers. 
However, an endorsement
is required from an adult who can personally vouch for the nominee’s community service.

ABOUT AAMW
The African American Men of Westchester, Inc. (“AAMW”) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded in 1987 by three Westchester County residents to capitalize on the vast talent of the African American community.

The membership is composed of men who have distinguished themselves in a variety of professional fields. AAMW’s mission is to leverage opportunities to strengthen the educational, economic and developmental foundation of our communities. To that end, the organization provides the community with a variety of programs focused on youth development, financial literacy and social justice.
