AASP and Project E Announce Strategic Collaboration to Support Mental Performance Consultants

in Private Practice

Dear AASP Member:

We are excited to announce a new strategic collaboration between the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) and Project E, co-created by Abby Keenan, CMPC, and Dr. Lindsey Schriefer, marking the beginning of an external partnership designed to support the professional growth and entrepreneurial success of Certified Mental Performance Consultants® (CMPCs) and AASP members.

This partnership aims to enhance the knowledge, skills, and business acumen of professionals in the field of mental performance by combining AASP’s commitment to scientific and ethical practice in sport and performance psychology with Project E’s expertise in entrepreneurship. Project E helps mental performance consultants navigate the 4Es:

1. Explore whether or not private practice is right for you,

2. Establish your business through a step-by-step online course,

3. Elevate your business practices, reach, and impact, and

4. Evolve yourself and your business over time through community.

Together, AASP and Project E are committed to equipping mental performance consultants with the tools, knowledge, and community they need to succeed—both in applied practice and in business. A key purpose of this collaboration is to support the career advancement of AASP members through expanded learning and networking opportunities related to entrepreneurship, to initially include:

  • Private practice resources in the AASP website Member Area
  • Entrepreneurship-focused webinars starting in 2026

In the meantime, for those who are considering private practice and want to learn more before pursuing this career path, we invite you to download Project E’s free resource, the Explore guide. We look forward to sharing more updates as this collaboration evolves and to continue providing meaningful opportunities for professional growth.
