Don't Miss our FREE
Media Training Webinar!
Tuesday, April 27th, 8 pm EST
Speaker: Crystal Mackay
Founder & CEO, Loft32
Based on the discussions on the AAVN list serve last month, the AAVN is very excited to be offering a FREE media training webinar to our members!
When the media calls, people get nervous. Some may even panic. ‘What if I say something wrong?’ ‘What if it goes sideways?’ ‘What if they misquote me?’ The Introduction to Media Training webinar is a great place to start or refresh your thinking on media relations. Crystal Mackay will share some basics about why working with media is important and how to be most effective. She will give practical tips and advice, beginning with what to do BEFORE the interview, like starting to think about questions you may be asked, key messages and examples for answers. This session will provide a great base to increase your comfort and confidence.
This course has been submitted but not yet approved for 1 RACE CE credit. Please note that this webinar is for members only.
Student members should use the Promo Code “AAVNSTUDENT”
when signing up.

Benefits are Growing for AAVN Members
Renew Today!
Back in early 2016, after many months of preparation, the AAVN Executive Board held a day-long strategic planning meeting. The goal was to evaluate where we’ve been, where we were at currently, and where we wanted to go in the future. The prep work included survey results collected from AAVN members (and some students) and a SWOT analysis in order to explore AAVN’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats during the next 5-year period 2016-2020.
The current Board is pleased to report that several key goals of the Strategic Plan developed at that meeting have now been met, including:
- A growing membership, with numbers 300+ strong
- An updated website with new features, including a searchable Member Directory
- Improved communications with a monthly e-newsletter
- Increased engagement with students at all levels of training
- Support of student chapters at veterinary schools across North America
Another goal of the Plan is the increase of annual membership dues to $100 USD for active members. The plan was to institute this increase in 2020, but was put on hold due to the global pandemic.
