Did You Know?

There are subtle differences between needs, drives, and incentive. Needs are physiological and environmental imbalances that give rise to drives. Drives are the tendencies to act in specific ways to reach a goal. Incentive means the value or effectiveness of the goal as a motive for behavior.

Student of the Month - Ethan Stallman

Ethan Stallman is a 17-year-old junior attending Fountain Fort Carson High School. In the future, Ethan hopes to earn a track scholarship and attend the University of Northern Colorado (UNC), where he plans on majoring in Biochemistry with goals of becoming a Physician’s Assistant.

11/17/18 - Pre-Kwanzaa - African Marketplace

The Pre-Kwanzaa African Marketplace gave vendors an opportunity to share their merchandise in the community before the holidays. The AAYLC enjoyed having a table at this event. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to see us!

Colorado Gives Day is an annual statewide movement to celebrate and increase philanthropy through online giving. The AAYLC is honored to be one of the non-profit organizations listed this year. The Bob Telmosse Foundation is focused on keeping alive both the Christmas Spirit and the commitment to improving the lives of children and families in the Pikes Peak Region. 03/09/19 - African American Youth Leadership Conference

Inviting Colorado students in grades 6 - 12 to join us for our annual conference on Saturday, March 9, 2019 . Experience a full day of learning and fun. Registration is FREE . Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Parents are also welcome to attend our Parent Workshop. Located on the beautiful Colorado College campus in Colorado Springs. Registration starts in January. Stay tuned!
