UNCF Student Impact Story - Allana Barefield
Allana Barefield, a recent graduate of UNCF-member HBCU Xavier University of Louisiana, explains how a UNCF scholarship helped make the difference for her career as a reporter.
Student of the Month - Deylen Duncan
Deylen Duncan is a middle schooler at The Vanguard School in Fountain, CO with a 3.85 GPA. October is his birthday month! He enjoys science and builds and launches rockets as a hobby. Deylen is an advanced coder and likes creating games and websites on his computer. He has a Black Belt in Taekwondo. Deylen is also musically inclined. He sings, and plays bass guitar, drums and clarinet.

9/4/19 - Planning Committee Kick-Off Meeting

We kicked-off the new planning year with a bang! Over 40 people attended this initial meeting. We appreciate all of the new volunteers who joined the team.  We know the 2020 Conference will be epic.
9/14/19 - Shopping Extravaganza Fundraiser

Our Outlets at Castle Rock - Shopping Extravaganza fundraiser was a huge success! We were honored to participate in this "shop-for-a cause" event for a 3rd year. We had a winning combination of ticket sales, great weather and our supporters! Seeing all the smiles, shopping bags, prizes winners and wine tasters was priceless. See you next year!
9/18/19 - College Scholarship Workshop

The feedback from our College Scholarship Workshop was tremendous! With over 200 participants, our event provided tips and tricks from a variety of organizations. Our keynote speaker, Tanika Mangum from the United Negro College Fund, made quite the impression on our attendees. We would like to thank our presenters, supporters and attendees for making this seminar a success. 
9/28/19 - Colorado College - Friends & Family Weekend Dinner

Senior Associate Dean of Students - Rochelle -Dickey Mason and Dean of Students - Mike Edmonds invited the AAYLC, along with two other community partners, to co-host a student dinner. It was a privilege to converse with students who did not have family visiting them during the the weekend. Thank you Colorado College for the opportunity to spend time with these amazing students!
Now is the Time to Apply for Scholarships!
Don't miss an opportunity to pay for your college dreams! Many scholarship windows are open NOW. There are literally thousands of scholarships that are waiting for applicants. A few things to remember: 1) Don't assume who the scholarship is for with the title; 2) Read the requirements requested for each scholarship; 3) Follow all instructions; 4) Answer the "actual" question being asked; 5) Apply!

10/19/19 (Sat) - Student Advisory Committee

The AAYLC is seeking bold, creative, and energetic people to join our Student Advisory Committee. We need students (grades 6 - 12) to provide their input for the upcoming 2020 conference. They will have an opportunity to meet new people and share their voice. Please consider joining us for our kick-off meeting on Saturday, October 19th. Save the Date! We are excited to announce our conference theme: 2020 Vision #SeeBeyondNow. Get ready for full day of learning, new experiences, and fun. Our annual conference will inspire students to be anything they want to be! Registration begins in January.
