September's All About Healthy Aging!
Working Towards Ending the Stigma of Alzheimer's/Dementia During World Alzheimer's Month

50 million people, worldwide, are living with Alzheimer's or some other form of dementia. Dementia is a general term describing a group of symptoms associated with a cognitive decline that's severe enough to interfere with daily life. Alzheimer's Disease is a form of dementia- a specific degenerative condition of the brain caused by cell damage that accounts for 60-80% of dementia cases. While there is no cure, studies have shown that an effective way to halt the progression of the disease is to keep the mind mentally stimulated and to help keep individuals with Alzheimer's involved in their social circles as well as their communities.

Healthy Aging (and What it Actually Means)
