What does Honeywell do?
Honeywell is a multinational conglomerate, we’re a fortune 100 company with over 110,000 employees worldwide and existing in over over 906 sites globally. Honeywell works across industries, we provide industry specific solutions in aerospace products and services, for example aviation systems, auxiliary power units, and in building technologies, we provide safety and security solutions, in performance and material technologies, we provide control systems for refineries and plants, and high quality performance materials and chemicals. In safety and productivity solutions, we provide mobility solutions for employees safety solutions as well for employees and products. But if you look at from a bird’s eye, what we are doing is actually leading through innovation in changing the way the world works and solving some of the toughest challenges that our customers are facing. To name a few: energy efficiency, productivity, and worker’s safety.

When did you establish yourselves in Kuwait?
We’ve been in Kuwait for over 50 years now, supporting key industries here in transforming over the past years, particularly the oil and gas and construction business like airports, health care, education, and the aviation industry.

What makes Honeywell stand out from other companies within the same industry?
We’ve talked about our mission of changing the way the world works, we’re now taking charge as industries go through digitization and digital transformation. We’re providing services, software, and digital solutions that set the pace for the ever changing and fast changing world around us. I think that’s the critical aspect of what is really differentiating Honeywell at the current stage, this is our strategy moving forward and what we are set to do.

What is your company’s most recent accomplishment?
Our accomplishments are many globally and nationally. I want to focus a little bit more on what Honeywell has been doing in Kuwait here. Over the past two years we’ve been focusing on three main things, the first being driving digitalization with our customers and partners, and leveraging on iot and big data. Second is cyber security, in particular we want to make sure that the critical infrastructure in Kuwait is safe and secure. Third is growing local talent and knowledge through expertise exchange and training programs. If we’re talking about accomplishments in that regards, I am very proud that last year we’ve been selected as Energy Company Of The Year in Kuwait by Arabian Business. This is a result of the key strategic initiatives that we’ve executed; today I am talking to you from our Customer Experience Center. This is a platform where we collaborate and train and demonstrate to our customers leading technologies and how they can service and optimize their operations. We also have an Automation College that we established 2-3 years ago, and it provides training to our customers technicians and engineers. We’ve also established a partnership with KFAS Academy to provide virtual training courses in industrial automation space. Most importantly however, last year we inaugurated a Customer Solutions Center which provides made-in-Kuwait solutions to power the Oil and Gas industry’s digital transformation.
What are the biggest challenges you face in your industry?
The industry is facing 2 main challenges as they go through the digital transformation. First of all is security, particularly cyber security. As you start utilizing data more and more, as things become more connected, the risk of cyber attacks increase; this is a trend we’ve been seeing over the past few years. Honeywell, with its expertise in automation and control is well-positioned to tackle these challenges and we’ve been working extensively with our partners and our customers in addressing these risk aspects through our latest solutions. The second main challenge in the industry is how you can utilize digitalization to improve your business performance as a whole. This requires a holistic approach that looks at your people, your assets, and your processes, and extract the maximum value out of these with the greatest impact on your performance as an entity or organization. Over the past year, Honeywell has been taking charge in that with our Honeywell Forge Solution, an enterprise performance management solution that’s holistic in its approach and software and hardware agnostic. We’re very proud of what we’ve been doing in that regard and we’ve seen a great impact on our customers performance.

Why should our members utilize your services and do business with you?
I think the fact that in Kuwait in particular we’ve been here for over 50 years, we’re present directly and have a capable workforce, engineers and technicians on the ground ready to support our customers pre-sales and post-sales. Our greatest asset however is our people, we are future shapers, we believe the future is what you make it. People are our ultimate differentiator, we take great pride in what they do, they are dreamers, they are actually what makes the difference, and they are able to execute and deliver on strategic objectives. Another important factor I think as we all operate in Kuwait is the Kuwait 2035 vision which was initiated a couple years ago. Part of it is growing the knowledge economy and improving cooperation among businesses within Kuwait wether SMEs or international businesses, and that’s why we are also part of ABCK’s Board of Directors, where we try to drive these initiatives forward.
