Saudi Arabia, Kuwait working to restart Neutral Zone’s Wafra field: source

Saudi Arabia and Kuwait are working very hard to reopen the onshore Wafra oil field in the Neutral Zone shared between both countries, a source directly involved in the project said June 21. Arab news agency Attaqa reported on June 20 that Wafra is scheduled to restart on July 1, at 10,000 b/d initially and building up to 145,000 b/d by mid-2021.

Kuwait Commercial Flights to Restart from August 1

The government spokesman, Tariq Al-Muzarram, announced today, Monday, that the cabinet approved a 3-stage plan to restart commercial flights in Kuwait Airport starting from August 1, 2020. Al-Muzram added that the flights will be at an operational rate of no more than 30% according to health guidelines.

The Deadlines to File and Pay 2019 Federal Income Taxes Postponed to July 15, 2020

 WASHINGTON ― As the 2019 tax filing and payment deadline approaches, the IRS reminds taxpayers and businesses that 2019 income tax liabilities as well as postponed April 15 and June 15, 2020 estimated tax payments are due July 15, 2020. This postponement provided temporary tax relief in response to the COVID 19 pandemic.

Economic Impact Payments Updates

In the past two months, more than 159 million Americans have received Economic Impact Payments totaling almost $267 billion. Of the payments, 120 million were sent to Americans by direct deposit, 35 million by check and 4 million payments were made in the form of a pre-paid debit card. The IRS reminds many low-income Americans who don't usually file tax returns to  register  for a payment by October 15.

IRS Announces Rollover Relief for Required Minimum Distributions from Retirement Accounts waived Under the CARES Act

The Internal Revenue Service today announced that anyone who already took a required minimum distribution (RMD) in 2020 from certain retirement accounts now has the opportunity to roll those funds back into a retirement account following the CARES Act RMD waiver for 2020. The 60-day rollover period for any RMDs already taken this year has been extended to August 31, 2020, to give taxpayers time to take advantage of this opportunity.

IRS outlines changes to health care spending available under CARES Act

WASHINGTON — The Internal Revenue Service has advised that new rules under the CARES Act provide flexibility for health care spending that may be helpful in the current environment where more people may need at-home services due to measures to fight the coronavirus. Under the CARES Act, a high deductible health plan temporarily can cover telehealth and other remote care services without a deductible.
