Please pray for Pastor Andy and his family. His brother passed away yesterday, and he has experienced other recent losses of close friends and family. Grief is never easy, and we lift them up in prayer so that they will know the peace and comfort that only Christ can give and the support of our American Baptist community.

Celebrating the Ministry of Dr. Willie Lucas

On June 1st Dr. Willie Lucas concluded his pastoral ministry with a worship service that included several baptisms, communion and the preaching of God's word. After the service the church honored him for his 25 years of serving there and his 60 years of ministry.

Dr. Lucas has been a faithful preacher of the gospel since he was a teenager. He has been a student of the Bible a caring pastor to many and was always looking for ways to lead people to Christ. His passion for Christ has touched thousands in churches where he preached the gospel message around the United States. He has supported missions and outreach has made a lasting impact in the communities he has served and around the world.

He has been a loyal servant leader among American Baptists, providing faithful leadership to churches and American Baptist regions in Indiana and Southern California.

He lead the effort to raise ministry funds through the Emory Campbell Golf Tournament and continues to lead Children’s Baptist Home to make ministry possible, including the Youth and Latino Ministries of our region.

We thank him for stepping out of retirement to lead First Baptist Church of Woodland Hills, CA, for the last 25 years and providing them with a solid foundation for their future ministry. We pray for God's blessing on him and Linda as they continues to serve God's Kingdom!

Host the Southland Baptist Church Youth Choir in Your Worship Gathering!

Is your church seeking a meaningful and energizing addition to its summer worship services? The Southland Baptist Church Youth Choir from San Angelo, Texas, is currently looking for opportunities to share their music on the evenings of Sunday, July 13 and Wednesday, July 16 as part of their summer mission tour — and they'd love to partner with your congregation!

This talented group of middle and high school students brings a passionate heart for worship and service, blending music, testimony, and Scripture in a way that resonates with all ages. Their goal is not to perform, but to minister — using their voices to point others to Jesus and encourage the local church. Whether during a Sunday evening gathering, a midweek worship service, or a special event, the Southland Youth Choir would be honored to join you in lifting up the name of Christ.
