ABHMS Plans Biennial Events

Join American Baptist Home Mission Societies in its virtual exhibit booth at 1 p.m. ET on June 23 for the launch of ABHMS’ Center for Continuous Learning (CCL) during the Biennial Mission Summit week. Meet CCL’s director, the Rev. Rebecca Irwin-Diehl, take a virtual tour of the newly launched website with its custom learning platform, and experience a sample workshop, “What Floats Your Boat? Navigating the Deep Waters of Congregational Change and Discernment.”

CCL is a hub for practical mission education, committed to empowering God’s people for today’s real-life challenges. Seeking to equip leaders as disciples, to make disciples into leaders, and to train God’s people to fulfill their ministry passions, CCL features interactive, intercultural and incarnational learning experiences. These learning experiences reflect current trends in leadership training, address society’s need for healing and justice, and create mission education for emerging generations. Courses in development for summer are as follows:

  • CeCaLi: in Spanish; first of four live, synchronous learning experiences on July 10;
  • Grant-writing webinar: late summer, on-demand, date to be determined; and
  • Network leadership course: featuring Jane Wei-Skillern, summer, live, date to be determined.

Read the latest stewardship blog on talking about money from Rev. Stacy Emerson

This month, The Generosity Project is publishing two blogs from the Rev. Stacy Emerson. These two blogs entitled "Talking About Money . . ." and "Stewardship and Sustainability" will be available on the ABCUSA website to assist and support new growth and understanding as we deepen our ministry and discipleship.

The Generosity Project examines the challenge of stewardship in the 21st century and looks at learning how to re-frame the conversation. It looks at how we can create experiments to nurture generosity in ourselves, our families, and our congregations.

The American Baptist Churches of Wisconsin Explore the Realities of Our New Normal in Most Recent Stewardship Article

The COVID 19 era has been a curse and, in some ways, a blessing for so many churches. Several churches have closed while others have flourished.
