Resident News to Use
April 2019
A Note from the Editor - Dr. Nicole DeLauro

It's hard to believe that the current residency year is heading towards the end. This is the time when you will finalize your job opportunities, prepare for your upcoming fellowships, and sit for examinations. While this may seem daunting, ABPM is here to help. Download the ABPM APP to allow access to exam type questions, and testing information. This is a great resource!

Also, be sure to read our feature on fellowship opportunities, exam updates, and our newest tip on job searching and preparation. This newsletter we feature an excellent article in our Clinical Skills section by Dr. Marisse Lardizabal, and feature a Spotlight article on board member Dr. Mitchell Shikoff. Be sure to read them!

As always, feel free to meet our staff during any of our upcoming events.

Outpatient vs. Inpatient Workup on Diabetic Foot Infections
by Marisse Lardizabal, DPM

Diabetic foot infections (DFI) are both challenging and common amongst all podiatrists. Treatment of DFI's require a level of comfort and training as well as resources available to clinicians. ABPM has traditionally been a great source of information for podiatrists which makes the board certification by ABPM paramount.

Like many podiatrists, you may encounter these types of patients initially in the clinic/outpatient setting, where you can catch the potential signs and symptoms of a diabetic foot infection waiting to happen.
