December 11, 2025

Greetings!

This month, donors gathered to celebrate 35 years of A Better World, with more than 100 guests joining us at the Lacombe Memorial Centre for an evening of gratitude and reflection. Our keynote speaker, Tammy Martins, encouraged everyone to consider what their “second chapter” in life could look like. We also heard from several inspiring speakers, including Kelvin Hill, our Dental Program Director; Karen Leung, our Rehab Program Director; and Warren Schnoor, our Project Manager and Board Member, who closed the evening by sharing his personal journey with ABW.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended and for the ongoing support we continue to receive.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Ndanai Rehab

We’re excited to share that ABW is working on a new Rehab centre Wing at Ndanai Hospital in Kenya. The project is currently in progress, and we hope to have the grand opening in June. The centre is being developed in partnership with the Kenyan Ministry of Health, the hospital, and our generous donors. Once

completed, this facility will provide essential rehab services to support patients recovering from orthopedic surgery.

Professional Development in Tanzania

We celebrated World Disability Awareness Day in Tanzania with an event hosted at the Mombo Hospital, organized by physiotherapist Alex Matee. Through the Professional Development Fund, ABW has delivered specialized training that empowers local staff with skills and knowledge to better support individuals with disabilities.

Dental Team

A Better World Canada has been making a difference through its Dental Program! The organization deploys Canadian dental teams to underserved communities where access to dental care is limited. The team, lead by Dr. Kelvin Hill, with dentist and dental staff operate mobile clinics, deliver oral hygiene services, and treat dozens of patients each day.

During these clinics, training is provided to local dentists to continue operating after the Canadian team leaves.

Our goal is to install permanent dental chairs in the clinics. We have installed three so far.
