Nobody invites a crisis, but sometime challenging times help us learn what we are made of, and reveal people’s hidden strengths. We have been pleased to learn during the pandemic just how independent and capable our overseas project managers and communities are.
Despite the fact that our travel has been curtailed to prevent the spread of illness, our onsite project managers and the local communities have been capably continuing with our 2021 projects without the physical presence of Canadian managers. Read about them in our Project Updates below. We are firmly on track to achieve all of our 2021 goals by the end of the year, including our surgery schedule.
This is heartening not only to see that our programs have continued unabated, but also to see such an important vision becoming a reality. A Better World’s main purpose – one of our defining characteristics – has been to create sustainable improvements in overseas communities. When they can continue their growth without our direct supervision, it means that the seeds we have planted have borne fruit. Everyone who supports and manages ABW projects is to be congratulated for this outcome.
Sadly, we have also lost three long-time supporters since our last newsletter. Please read below about their continued dedication to ABW in memorial projects.
