June 2019
Have you ever wondered how an artist creates their beautiful masterpieces? Visit our artist studios and see art in progress! The artists here at The Arts Council welcome you to view their studios and are happy to answer questions you may have about what they do, and their process.

These artists have art displayed in the Sue M. Lee arts corridor and pieces change frequently. View some amazing original art in addition to our exhibits all year long.

New Artists in Residence
Devin Cogger (Bryan Artist in Residence)
Devin is our new artist for the Bryan artist in residency program. Devin is an abstract artist that explores both painted images as well as sculptures. The use of visual ambiguity within his work allows the viewer to be imaginative and adaptive. With this type of art, the work is capable of having many interpretations, enticing the viewer to actively engage in the content. While Devin plays with this idea of visual ambiguity, he still likes to bring moments of clarity into the work, teasing the eye of the viewer.
Chris Gowen (College Station Artist in Residence)
Chris grew up exploring the skeletons of under-construction homes. Today he uses these childhood experiences and memories as inspiration, creating pieces of mostly abstracted landscapes and "ruined" structures. Chris states that his hope is to "give the spectator a view into this moment of exploration and discovery, bridging the gap between an observation of the world and contemplation of something larger."
We are pleased and excited to welcome both of our new Artists in Residence!
