Legislation to support new recovery benefits and extend funding for COVID-19 measures receives Royal Assent

The COVID-19 Response Measures Act (formerly Bill C-4) received Royal Assent. This legislation creates three new temporary recovery benefits to support Canadians who are unable to work for reasons related to COVID-19. These benefits will be in place for one year beginning September 27, 2020.

Government of Canada expands Regional Relief and Recovery Fund to provide further support for businesses

The Government of Canada will provide an additional $600 million to support workers and businesses through RRRF. This additional investment brings the total RRRF support to over $1.5 billion, helping businesses and organizations weather the impact of COVID-19.

Government of Canada Launches the Canadian Centre for Energy Information Website

Statistics Canada launched the Canadian Centre for Energy Information (CCEI)’s website, which will provide a modernized, independent, energy information system by giving Canadians access to timely data on the use of energy in order to inform our transition to a low-carbon energy future.

Emergency On-Farm Support Fund

The Emergency On-Farm Support Fund provides a 35 million investment to improve health and safety on farms and in employee living quarters to prevent and respond to the spread of COVID-19.
