Just Launched: Alberta Mentorship Program

The Alberta Mentorship Program (AMP), a joint project of mentorship and employment organizations and the Alberta and federal governments, started in 2019. Their mission is to spread mentorship in a way that is engaging and sustainable throughout the province. Two community partner organizations, in Lethbridge and Fort McMurray, are currently running pilot mentorship programs building on their work with mentorship and immigrant services.

The AMP website addresses all stages of a mentorship program with success stories; information to support mentors and mentees, program administrators, and employers; and free samples, forms, and planning tools for participants and programs. While the resources provided by AMP can help any kind of career mentorship, the primary focus is on programs and participants who are supporting newcomers to Canada.

ACC is proud to endorse the POST Promise

POST Promise/Promesse APRES is a national, bilingual private sector-led initiative designed to help Canadians confidently and safely shop and work in local businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Each week hundreds-of-thousands of Canadians shop or work at businesses which have made the POST Promise.

Businesses who “make the promise” commit to implementing five key actions, which were developed in consultation with the Public Health Agency of Canada, to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

The POST Promise is not meant to replace the policies or protocols businesses already have in place. Instead, it’s meant to compliment these efforts by creating a consistent approach that all businesses, regardless of size or location, can implement.

The Alberta Chambers of Commerce is proud to partner with POST Promise and encourages all members to consider taking part in this national movement.
