Newsletter - Spring 2022
President's Message
Thank you for being a member of ACC Oregon!

The past two years have been challenging in so many ways, and in recognition of the stresses of work and life that we have all experienced, ACC Oregon is hosting our second annual Wellness Month throughout April. We are offering several programs designed to support your physical and mental well-being as many of you prepare to return to the physical workplace and life picks up pace again. Tomorrow we are hosting a workshop with Boly:Welch about career development, and toward the end of the month we are hosting two CLEs that are eligible for a mental health credit hour; one with the Oregon Attorney Assistance Program and one with Holland & Knight. We also are offering on demand yoga and meditation classes from The Yoga Space for members to view all month long. And everyone who participates will be entered in a raffle at the end of April for some great wellness prizes.

We are planning a lot more events this year, too. We are hosting an online CLE sponsored by Barran Liebman on May 19 on talent acquisition concerns during tumultuous times, as well as a program about the metaverse with Perkins Coie in late May or early June. We also finally anticipate holding our first in person events during my tenure as president with several of our sponsors throughout the summer, including a special celebration in honor of the 40th Anniversary of the Association of Corporate Counsel with longtime sponsor Markowitz Herbold on June 30 and a visit to Top Golf with Barran Liebman on August 18! We will share more details on these and additional events soon.

Also, please join me in welcoming new corporate member, Intersect Power, LLC, to our chapter. And we are pleased to announce that K & L Gates has come on board as a new sponsor for 2022.

Finally, I would like to share our sadness at the death of longtime member, Brian Burton, who tragically passed away last month. On behalf of ACC Oregon, we express our deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
I hope you enjoy the spring and look forward to seeing you at some of our events this summer.

Emily
