Getting to Know Your
2023 ACC St. Louis Chapter President, Jenny Herner:

On January 26, 2023, Jenny Herner was elected the 32nd President of the St. Louis Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel. She has been working as in-house counsel for 24 years. In her current role at Anheuser-Busch, she provides transactional support, including M&A, sponsorship, license, distribution, and procurement agreements. In prior roles, she has set up global privacy and compliance programs and managed litigation and employment.
She received the Missouri Lawyer’s Media In-House Counsel Award in 2020, and, in 2012, was named a Most Influential Businesswoman by the St. Louis Business Journal. She is an alum of the University of Missouri Journalism School and Georgetown University Law School, serves on the Advisory Board of The Crossing church, and lives in University City with a Jack Russell “Terrorist” known by her friends as The Wild Thing.
1. If I were not a corporate lawyer, I would be:
A journalist. I turned down a job opportunity at The Washington Post to go to law school.

U.S. Supreme Court Decides
to Dismiss In re Grand Jury Case
The Court’s decision means in-house counsel will continue to face ambiguity when and how attorney client privilege is applied for dual-purpose communications. Washington – The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) today issued the below statement in response to the U.S Supreme Court’s decision to dismiss the In re Grand Jury case. This was the first case in 40 years to take on the issue of attorney-client privilege. ACC, along with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, filed an amicus brief in support of the “significant purpose” test for dual purpose communications.

What are your pets' names? Kimchi (white, 12), Magju (brown, 6), Yeoja (grey, 2)

How did you get your pets' names?

We welcomed our first fur baby, Sagwa (who passed in 2020), when my husband and I taught English in South Korea over a decade ago. His name was already given to him, and meant "apple" in Korean. He had a very strong Napoleon complex at only 4.5 pounds, so we kept with small pups when we wanted to grow our fur family. We also kept with the Korean naming theme - Kimchi is a fermented spicy cabbage, Magju means "beer," and Yeoja means "lady."
