Scholarship Opportunity: The Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship

Aiming to transfer to a 4-year institution next fall? The Jack Kent Cooke transfer scholarship application is now open! This competitive scholarship awards students up to $55,000 a year for up to three years to complete your bachelor’s degree. Apply via the Common App by January 9, 2025. Learn More.

Former ACC student Jessica Gallardo transferred to St. Edward’s University in 2022, and is majoring in International Business, Marketing, and Global Languages & Cultural Studies. Her advice to students intending to transfer: “Don’t be afraid to apply to private schools! You might be surprised and sometimes end up with a better scholarship package than you think. Also, get involved in student life organizations on campus that will help you build leadership skills to add to your resume!”

Transfer Specialist

Victor Gonzalez, Transfer Specialist, helps ACC students find programs and universities that are the right fit for them all the way through the application process. His advice to students: “Students should start early. They should begin planning from their very first semester after they have had time to get adjusted to ACC. Also, make an appointment with one of the specialists!”

Advocating for Smooth Transitions: ACC at TACRAO Conference

This November, the ACC Transfer Services team attended the TACRAO conference in San Marcos, where Renee Esparza, Transfer Services Director, and Victor Gonzalez, Transfer Specialist, presented on transfer student success. They advocated for simplifying the transfer process and strengthening partnerships with universities to benefit students. The team also gained valuable insights from higher education professionals across the state, reaffirming ACC’s commitment to supporting students’ journeys to four-year institutions.



UT Austin Engages with ACC Students at UT Day 

On November 21, ACC’s Highland Campus hosted UT Day at ACC, bringing the University of Texas at Austin representatives to meet ACC students and staff. Attendees connected with UT admissions and academic departments, explored transfer resources, and attended their presentations. 


Registration for Spring Semester 

Students planning to transfer should register for the spring semester before the winter break to ensure they get the classes of their choice. High demand classes fill up the quickest, so register now.
