EDMONTON — Today, the Alberta Chambers of Commerce (ACC) is launching its municipal Vote Prosperity campaign—a platform of business priorities for Alberta communities. The campaign follows a highly successful provincial Vote Prosperity campaign the ACC network ran in the leadup to the 2019 provincial election.
"When we talk about Alberta's overall competitiveness, municipal and provincial frameworks are inextricably linked. The decisions of both orders of government make Alberta either an attractive or unattractive place to do business," says ACC President and CEO Ken Kobly. "For this reason, a municipal Vote Prosperity campaign was the logical next step following our very well received provincial campaign in 2019."
The campaign includes four platform pillars: strengthening business competitiveness, growing business partnerships, building healthy communities, and improving government accountability. As was the case provincially, the municipal Vote Prosperity campaign is non-partisan and not candidate specific.
"As our province continues to reopen and recover, we should be revisiting these key platform areas," says Kobly. "Currently, we are ideally situated to set up our communities and our province for long-term economic success."
