It is estimated that 50,000 businesses across Canada applied for and received Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA) in 2020/2021, but have recently been informed by their financial institution that they are no longer eligible for the loan forgiveness portion.

We would like to gain insight to the number of Alberta businesses impacted so we can advocate on their behalf.
If you received a CEBA please take 1 minute to share your experience.

Canada’s National Statement on Nuclear Energy

Because of Russia’s illegal invasion, energy affordability and security are now at the forefront of international affairs. This conflict has exposed the vulnerability of global energy markets and impacted the supply chains for many other key commodities and industries.

In the short term, Europe is looking to replace Russian energy imports with those from other countries while concurrently aggressively accelerating a transition toward non-emitting and more secure forms of energy, including renewables, hydrogen and nuclear.

Competition Bureau releases report identifying competition concerns with WestJet’s proposed acquisition of Sunwing

Eliminating the rivalry between these integrated airlines and tour operators would likely result in increased prices, less choice and decreases in service for Canadians. It would also likely result in a significant reduction in travel by Canadians on a variety of routes where their existing travel networks overlap.

The Bureau’s review determined that these effects would apply to 31 routes between Canada and Mexico or the Caribbean. The transaction also represents a merger of the only two integrated airlines and tour operators offering non-stop service on 16 of these routes.
