ACC statement on AFL boycott campaign
EDMONTON — Alberta Chambers of Commerce (ACC) President and CEO Ken Kobly issued the following statement on the Alberta Federation of Labour (AFL) campaign to boycott businesses that donated to UCP political action committees in the 2019 provincial election:

"In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and historic economic recession, it's disappointing to see the Alberta Federation of Labour launch a boycott campaign that will weaken local economies and harm already-struggling community job creators.

"Regardless of political stripe, Alberta businesses need our support now more than ever if they are going to survive these unprecedented challenges. These are the businesses that support our local sports teams, donate to our community fundraisers, and employ our neighbours and our friends.

"Instead of boycotting Alberta businesses, please instead choose to shop local wherever you are able."
