ACCA NEEDS YOUR IMMEDIATE HELP
During the COVID-19 crisis, ACCA is continuing to help our low-income neighbors with child care, food, rent, and other types of assistance. The simplest, fastest, and safest way to help our efforts is to
donate to ACCA on-line
. ACCA will use your donation to provide urgent assistance to your needy neighbors.
- This will bring you to ACCA’s donation page on the Greater Washington Catalogue for Philanthropy website. The Catalogue is a nonprofit partner that processes donations to ACCA through PayPal, and no cost to you or ACCA.
- In the box next to “Amount $,” please enter the amount you wish to give.
- For now, please do not designate a specific donation category, so that it is easier for us to apportion your donation quickly to the greatest need, as this crisis unfolds.
- If you wish to become an ongoing (“recurring”) online donor, then please click on the blue text that says ”Dedication? Anonymous? Recurring?” Then select how frequently you wish to automatically donate.
- Click on “Add to Cart and Proceed to Checkout” and finish your payment process on the secure page.
Of course, you can always donate to ACCA by sending a check to: ACCA, Inc., 7200 Columbia Pike, Annandale, VA 22003
Thank you for continuing to share Christ’s love in your community.

ACCA has been selected to be a part of the Giant Food Community Bag Program, which is designed to make it easy for customers to contribute to their local community while supporting the environment. For the month of March, each time a reusable $2.50 Community Bag is purchased at the Giant Food located at 7137 Columbia Pike, Annandale, $1 will be donated to ACCA, unless otherwise directed by the customer through the Giving Tag. This is a great way to raise awareness, support the environment and fundraise for our cause. To learn more about this program, please visit

CROP Walk
-
Congratulations to United Baptist Church, which ranked 93rd on Church World Service's national Cream of the CROP National list of the top fund-raising congregations and teams. Sally Norris was UBC's team lead and walker. The Annandale CROP Hunger Walk ranked number 84 on the Cream of the CROP list of top fund-raising walks. In December, ACCA received a check from CWS for $4240.61, the local allocation from the Annandale walk. The 2020 Annandale walk is planned for October 17.
Homework Club
- This group met twice in February and will continue through the school year. The need for English language help reaches beyond the homework club. We are researching opportunities for enhanced language support going forward.
Transportation - The ACCA-Shepherd's Center joint transportation program provided 66 rides.
This level of demand for the program is very high. We are in need of more drivers. Please contact accacares@verizon.net if you can drive a patient to a medical appointment. Scheduling is very flexible.

ACCA remains committed to the challenge of Jesus, as described in Matthew 25:40: “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
