This past year has again been an uncertain time for many of our neighbors in need. The global pandemic, inflation, and unemployment have pushed families into poverty again.

For over 54 years, the needy living in Annandale, Baileys’ Crossroads and Lincolnia have turned to ACCA for help. We are able to help only due to the generosity of people like you.

COVID-19 has revealed serious gaps in the social safety net in our country. ACCA has stepped up to help local families to bridge some of the gaps caused by the pandemic including unemployment and access to health care.

Over the past year, ACCA assisted more than 6,500 neighbors with childcare and emergency help. ACCA’s Human Service Ministries relied on donations and volunteers to help families in distress pay for rent, utilities, and medical supplies. We also provided groceries, furniture, home repairs and transportation.  Our Neighbor to Neighbor: Welcoming New Immigrants’ program is thriving as our volunteers continue to work with Afghan immigrants.

Our continuing efforts depend on your generosity. We hope you will consider making a contribution or volunteering your time. Our goal this year are to raise $175,000, in contributions and to increase our number of volunteers. This has been the largest goal we have ever set so that we may continue to help those affected by COVID-19, job loss, and other life changing situations. Because of the generosity of people like you, this goal is attainable.

The Greater Washington Catalogue for Philanthropy has included ACCA in its group of "the best" local nonprofits for the past several years.
