Speaking at the conference, prominent philanthropist and founder of Akhuwat, Dr Amjad Saqib emphasised that entrepreneurs play a crucial role in every society and business without ethics is simply an insult to public trust and counter to our universal values.
Senator Walid Iqbal delivered a passionate speech and explained the role that the corporate leaders and lawmakers need to play to promote ethical and sustainable business and deal with today's ethical complexities and inspired the audiences by connecting the topic with Iqbal’s economic philosophy and teachings.

ACCA partnered with the Women Economic Empowerment Network for the WEEN Summit 2019 in Multan to bring together trailblazing women entrepreneurs and provide opportunities to inspire, network, collaborate, seek support, and launch new initiatives.
At the summit, ACCA Member, Khawaja Mohsin delivered an insightful presentation on how to enable women entrepreneurship in the country and explained how ACCA is helping Women in Finance reach their career goals. The event featured contributions from leading women business leaders and policy makers, including Shandana Gulzar Khan, Chairperson, Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians.
Opportunity and diversity are two of ACCA’s five core values, and we were established specifically to open up the profession to people of all backgrounds, based solely on their ability. ACCA is in a strong position when it comes to balance – our membership has a 50/50 gender split, and our Council and executive team are also balanced in terms of men and women.

ACCA and KTBA Sign MOU to strengthen professional tax practice

ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and Karachi Tax Bar Association (KTBA) commit to working together to further the tax practice in Pakistan. The two organisations recently signed a memorandum of understanding, formalising this commitment.

ACCA and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board Of Investment & Trade (KPBOIT) to work together

ACCA Pakistan delegation met with Mr. Hassan Daud Butt, CEO, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board Of Investment & Trade (KPBOIT).
At the meeting, Mr. Hassan Daud Butt shared his vision to create a conducive investment climate for the development of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) as an economic hub (both for domestic and foreign investors) to tangibly contribute towards national GDP.
Both the organisations shared their commitment to work together, particularly in areas related to education diplomacy, development of future ready workforce and developing KP as a national & global hub of outsourcing services.

ACCA, Akhuwat to support micro-entrepreneurs, promote financial literacy
|
ACCA and Akhuwat have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which will help micro-entrepreneurs in Pakistan to get access to professional support and develop financial literacy.
Both the organisations have agreed to work closely on improving the financial literacy among micro-entrepreneurs who take interest-free loans from Akhuwat to help them with their business success and sustainability. ACCA will allow micro enterprises across the country to benefit from the world-class knowledge and rich experience of our highly sought-after qualified professional accountants free of cost to help small businesses to grow faster and generate greater opportunities for the economy.
Previously, Akhuwat was also awarded the ACCA Approved Employer status in recognition of the support it provides to ACCA trainees working towards the ACCA Qualification.
Akhuwat is a non-governmental organisation, compassionately working on improving the lives of the underprivileged; those who are financially abused, abandoned and disregarded by the society.

ACCA Pakistan and the Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO) have joined forces by signing an MoU that focuses on providing greater opportunities for members of both the organisations in Pakistan and leading on the matters of professionalism and talent development.
ACCA will help the member organisations of Entrepreneurs' Organization with attracting, developing and retaining future-ready talent as part of our Approved Employer programme and both the organisations will work together to meet the CPD needs of their respective members.
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by prominent corporate front-runners and top leadership of successful organisations.

Corporate Networking Luncheon in Peshawar

ACCA Pakistan hosted a high-level Corporate Networking Luncheon in Peshawar to provide an opportunity to business leaders and policy makers to sit together and explore new partnership opportunities and play a more impactful role in developing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa into a hub of economic activity and innovation.
Ziaullah Bangash, Advisor to CM on Elementary & Secondary Education was the Chief Guest, and Maqsood Anwar Pervaiz, President, KP Chamber of Commerce and Industries attended the luncheon as the Guest of Honour. The luncheon was attended by a large number of corporate and academic leaders from ACCA’s diverse network of employers in the province. ACCA’s Market Head – Business Development, Assad Hameed Khan, in his welcome address explained that ACCA’s standing as a super connector means we create wider opportunities for our stakeholder and the economies where we operate.

Train the Trainer: Tutor workshops in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad
|
|
Three workshop style trainings were organised in Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore to engage tutors of Strategic Business Reporting (SBR) from our approved learning partners and university partners. The workshops were moderated by Robert Moulin who came from the UK to deliver these highly interactive workshops. The purpose of these trainings was to provide capacity building support to tutors with respect to specific subject. In addition to these workshops, ACCA continued with Tutor Open House events to provide a platform to this important stakeholder to connect with the community and benefit from available resources and support.

Gujrat Education Conclave: a gathering of educationists, parents and students

Featuring inspirational talks, exclusive insights, winning education and career tips and much more – ACCA successfully partnered with LGS International Degree Programme for the first edition of Gujrat Education Conclave, a gathering of educationists, parents and students.

ACCA members support the FATA Economic Revitalisation Programme (FERP)

|
ACCA members are actively supporting the FATA Economic Revitalisation Programme (FERP), executed by Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) and powered by USAID, and UNDP. ACCA members are part of its Economic Cooperation and Development Forum (ECDF). To discuss and finalise their recommendations, the members of the forum gathered in Peshawar and deliberated on key topics. The report will now be submitted to SMEDA.

We are pleased to share that Ayla Majid FCCA has joined the World Economic Forum's Global Future Council on Energy. With other global leaders on the council, she will deliver a vision for the future of energy, help define potential action to positively shape related developments to create opportunities, and address the important issues of energy sustainability, affordability, inclusiveness and security.
Moreover, in the recent ACCA Global Council Elections, she has now been re-elected for another term as a council member. She has also joined the ACCA Council Board under the new governance structure. The Council Board comprises officers (the president, deputy president and vice president), three Council members, two non-Council appointees, and the Chief Executive (ex officio) and is responsible for oversight of performance in delivering ACCA's strategy, reporting to Council.

ACCA focuses on building connectivity among BRI countries with accounting infrastructure

The first workshop of the China-Central Asia Accounting Elites Exchange Programme officially kicked off at the Shanghai National Accounting Institute. The programme, proposed jointly by the Shanghai National Accounting Institute (SNAI), the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Institute (CI) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), was announced as one of the important outcomes of the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation held in Beijing in April this year.
