Building the Grid to Match the Pace of AI Innovation
As America accelerates into the age of artificial intelligence, one message from the new America’s AI Action Plan stands out: The nation must develop a grid to match the pace of AI innovation. Powering AI’s explosive growth will demand more than new data centers - it will require a fundamental modernization of the electric grid itself. With data center energy use expected to double by 2030, many of the nation’s transmission lines are already operating at or near capacity. Expanding the grid through new corridors will take years, but reconductoring existing lines with advanced materials offers an immediate path forward.
The ACCC® Conductor, developed by CTC Global, has emerged as one of the most practical solutions to this challenge. Its lightweight carbon-fiber core and high-efficiency aluminum strands allow utilities to double line capacity, cut line losses by up to 40%, and extend service life - all without replacing towers or expanding rights-of-way. Already deployed on more than 1,400 projects worldwide, the ACCC® Conductor is helping utilities deliver more power safely, efficiently, and sustainably. In an era when electricity is the lifeblood of innovation, Advanced Conductors like ACCC® Conductor are proving essential to building the smarter, stronger grid that America’s AI-driven future demands.
| | | | Why Advanced Conductors Are the Fastest Path to Grid Expansion | As electricity demand soars from AI data centers, EV manufacturing, and onshoring, utilities are discovering that transmission—not generation—is the biggest bottleneck to grid reliability and growth. This article explores how Advanced Conductors, particularly CTC Global’s ACCC® Conductor, enable utilities to double line capacity, cut losses by up to 40%, and modernize the grid using existing corridors and structures—avoiding years of permitting delays and costly new builds. With strong policy support from DOE and FERC, reconductoring with Advanced Conductors has become the fastest, most cost-effective way to expand grid capacity and accelerate the clean energy transition. | | | | CTC Global: Securing the Grid, Empowering the World | As electricity demand surges and global supply chains face mounting strain, energy security and independence have become national priorities. This article highlights how CTC Global is strengthening America’s grid—and empowering partners worldwide—through innovation, domestic manufacturing, and strategic global collaboration. By producing its high-performance ACCC® Conductor in the U.S. and in regional facilities abroad, CTC Global ensures both supply-chain security and sustainable access to advanced grid technology. The result: a stronger, smarter, and more resilient electric grid that supports American jobs, drives decarbonization, and empowers communities around the world. | | | | |

| | PLN Completes 500 kV Suralaya Lama–Cilegon Line Upgrade Using ACCC® Conductor | |
Java, Indonesia – Indonesia’s state-owned utility Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) has completed the reconductoring of its 500 kV Suralaya Lama to Cilegon transmission line, marking a major step in strengthening grid reliability and meeting rising regional power demand. The 10.9-kilometer double-circuit line was upgraded with Amsterdam size ACCC® Conductors manufactured by PT. Karya Mega Sarana (KAMESA) under license from CTC Global. In total, 288 kilometers of conductor were supplied. The project, engineered by PT. PLN PUSMANPRO and installed by PT. Centra Multi Elektrindo, was efficiently completed in about five weeks per circuit using two coordinated stringing teams.
The quad-bundled 500 kV line, supported by steel lattice towers with spans up to 703 meters, was completed with PLP hardware and OMAC equipment under varied terrain and several road crossings. Certified CTC Global Master Installers from Dinamika, along with KAMESA supervisors, ensured quality installation. By selecting ACCC® Conductor, PLN increased line capacity and reduced losses, demonstrating its commitment to modernizing Indonesia’s high-voltage grid with advanced, efficient technologies.
