The primary charge of the U.S. Census is to establish an accurate count of the nation’s population. While the Census is a constitutionally-mandated survey, many citizens are unaware of the impact it can have within their state. The results of this survey determine how resources are dispersed within communities, federally and locally, which makes it imperative for citizens to participate. Failing to properly prepare for and promote the Census in your community can lead to an undercount which will impact your community for a 10-year period following the Census.
