Augusta- Richmond County took a creative approach to promote census participation. The community was invited to "slide for the Census" at a Cha Cha Slide Virtual Dance Party hosted by a local church.
2020 Census Deadline is Now October 31
In light of the COVID-19 outbreak, the U.S. Census Bureau has adjusted 2020 Census operations . The revised self-response (online, phone and mailed) date is now October 31 .

As of June 7, the national self-response rate was 60.7 % , while Georgia had a self-response rate of 56.9 %. Use the map as a tool to encourage get-out-the-count efforts. Click here to access the map.

ACCG-GMA 2020 Census Virtual Outreach Survey
The current coronavirus pandemic has negated many efforts by cities and counties to conduct traditional outreach and promote the 2020 Census. As a result, response rates across Georgia are lagging. ACCG and GMA would like to know how your local government is now communicating virtually with your residents to ensure an accurate and complete count. Please access a brief, four-question survey here and help us improve our census activities. The deadline to respond is Tuesday, June 23 . Area Census Offices in Georgia Reopen for Field Operations
T he U.S. Census Bureau began a phased-in restart of certain 2020 Census field operations last month. In Georgia, Area Census Offices restarted operations in Atlanta, Columbus, DeKalb County, Douglasville, Gainesville, Gwinnett County, Savannah, and Macon. The full re-opening schedule is available here. The timeline for census operations continues to be updated and changed as more offices restart operations. Social Media Toolkit
Voices for Georgia’s Children, Georgia Family Connection Partnership, and the Georgia Department of Education developed a  Social Media Toolkit PDF . It contains important social media account handles to follow and tag in posts, easily downloadable graphics, and links to shareable promotional videos. While the toolkit is geared towards ensuring the count of children, it can be shared with everyone in your community as a tool for quick and effective social media outreach.
